Museums aren't only for showcasing ancient artifacts. In 2012, the Smithsonian put together a whole tribute just to celebrate video games.

The Art of Video Games, the Smithsonian's partially crowd-sourced exhibit on the visual history of video games is going across the country. The EMP Museum in Seattle will play host to the exhibit from February 15 to May 12 in 2013.

It's been just a few weeks since the space shuttle Discovery returned from her last mission to orbit, and already she's being partially disassembled and cleaned to prepare her for her final resting place, replacing Enterprise at the Smithsonian.
