While Apple updated its MacBook family at last month's WWDC, the iMac didn't get any new upgrades. Rumor has it Apple's already producing new iMacs — with Retina displays that'll make your eyeballs explode.

Apple's new MacBook Pro with Retina display is a beauty to be behold, if you can afford one, but it's not for everyone. With a weight of 4.46 pounds and a large 15-inch screen, it's not exactly portable. It's believed that Apple will sell a smaller 13-inch Retina MBP later this year.

Forget iPad 3's with Retina Displays, Apple might give its MacBook Pro line-up a real "pro" upgrade with screen resolutions that could stretch 2,880x1,800 pixels. Currently, the highest configurated 17-inch MacBook Pro tops out at 1,920x1,200. A Retina Display on a MacBook Pro would mean significantly more screen real estate.

Man, the talk of the PC town is all about Ultrabooks. This year's Ultrabooks already look like slick MacBook Air alternatives, but next year — with those 15-inch displays and 2,560x1,400 resolution screens — whoo, they're going to be absolutely amazing.

The iPhone 4 and fourth-gen iPod Touch have Retina Displays. The iPad 3 is rumored to receive the super dense screen with high pixel count, so why not the Mac? Code tucked within Apple's Xcode for OS X Lion contain hints to potential Retina Display Macs in the future.

Display expert Raymond Soneira has a bone to pick with Steve Jobs. You know that little comparison Steve made between the human retina and the resolution of his "Retina Display" featured on the upcoming iPhone 4? It's wrong, he says.
