Brewing beer is an art. You have to monitor the fermentation and timing to make sure the process ends up as delicious beer instead of something skunky. With all that's involved, it's hardly surprising that some industrious super geek hacked his way into taking out the guesswork with the help of a Raspberry Pi.
Technology is obviously catching up to our current definition of "supercomputer." I mean, when someone can just buy 64 Raspberry Pi computers, get them all talking to each other in a framework built out of Lego, and then call that "super," it sure seems like we need a new word for these things, doesn't it?
Remember that bare bones $35 Raspberry Pi computer that went on sale earlier this year? A guy called Greg Holloway has found a use for his, guiding a tiny unmanned boat across the Atlantic Ocean with no outside assistance.
At the right price, anything can become a sold-out product. It would appear the tiny $35 Raspberry Pi computer is a huge success. It's reported that thousands of units were sold with demand far outstripping supply.
The $25 Raspberry Pi computer has gone through a bunch of changes since we first saw it last May, and now it's ready for prime time with an announced release date of February 20.
