Universal Construction Kit makes interset mating easy, fun

The Free Universal Construction Kit (which we are taking great pains not to abbreviate anywhere in this article and will henceforth refer to it as "the Kit"), is a set of about 80 adapter blocks that can be used to connect all of those childhood construction sets you used to play with (Legos, Tinkertoys, etc.) to one another. And it's about freakin' time, too.

Lego bricks are beloved all the world over — now they have made it into orbit as part of a joint NASA-Lego educational project. The model of the International Space Station (ISS) was created while in orbit as a way of engaging children as to what it is like living and working in zero gravity.

Lego Friends: Lego sets just for girls

It's a good thing Lego's promo pic for their new Friends set, which targets girls, shows a scene that includes power tools, a science set, a robot, and some math. Otherwise, we might be feeling some serious outrage at the insinuation that girls don't like regular old Legos, and instead need curvy minifigs and pastel colors to have fun.

We love Lego creations for one reason: the colored blocks enable you to build anything you can imagine. You know what we love even more about Lego creations? Working machines made out of them, like this Super-8 film projector made almost entirely out of Lego Technic pieces.
