Apple and Google didn't expect to become mobile juggernauts, but they saw the importance of it and positioned themselves appropriately. Facebook, a newly-formed public company is now rumored (again) to be designing a smartphone that'll put the social network at the center of your life (if it isn't already).
Stop me if you've heard this one before, because it's not the first time we've heard that Facebook is working on a dedicated smartphone, and it probably won't be the last.
Facebook still doesn't have an official smartphone, but that hasn't stopped companies like INQ and HTC from releasing their own Facebook-focused phones. Motorola's jumping on the Zuckerberg train too with its own status-updating phone.
In galaxy far far away, Obi-wan Kenobi once famously said, "these are not the droids you are looking for" — he's wrong, at least as far as INQ's Android-powered Facebook phone goes. Last month's accidental certification test leak revealed the INQ Cloud Touch, a smartphone with Facebook at its central core — now it's officially broken cover.
Although Facebook hasn't unveiled an official Facebook phone, that hasn't stopped the rumor-mill from digging around for dirt on such a device. The most concrete evidence of a Facebook phone recently surfaced before info on it was removed.
