Who cares if 3D OLED TVs are still a ways off and Sony is quitting the business? The fact remains: 3D OLED TVs give us a look into the future, where TVs are ultra thin and ultra light. LG's 55-inch 3D OLED is purely one panel to drool over, even if we'll never be able to buy one anytime soon.

We've heard that people who don't use Netflix or Hulu or who even cable instead rely on television signals that are magically transmitted over the air. Weird, right? RCA thinks that it would be fun to be able to access these signals anywhere, anytime, and has a prototype portable digital TV system with which to do it.

Thin has been in with cellphones ever since the Motorola Razr, but thin and waterproof? It boggles the mind, but Fujitsu has done it here at CES. I asked the Fujitsu rep under what circumstances you'd need a phone or a tablet that's waterproof and also very very thin, and he couldn't think of any. But I can.

We called the Nest the "thermostat for the 21st century" based on its looks alone. No kidding. No surprise: it's designed by someone who oversaw the design of the iPod, so you know it's bound to garner some serious attention. We finally got to see the sold-out thermostat in person and it's every bit as fantastic as we thought it was.
