If artist Mads Peitersen ran the world, I wouldn't be telling you about the iPad Mini, but instead the new bioPhone 5, with a dual-valve processor and twice the intestinal track length of previous generations. Also, Apple now covers cracked bioPhone ribs under Apple Care. It's a bold new world!
 
A few days ago Google made a big online splash with one of its most elaborate doodles to date. For those who didn't see it, the doodle honored a man named Winsor McCay. Entitled Little Nemo in Google-land, the doodle was drawn in the style of McCay's most famous comic Little Nemo in Slumberland. It was also released on the 107th anniversary of Little Nemo's debut.
 
Space. It's big, and it's deep, but as far as we humans here on Earth are concerned, it may as well be a perfectly flat picture painted up there across the sky. It's hard to get much in the way of depth through a telescope, but with a little bit of creativity and artistic license, it's possible to 3D-ify some truly beautiful nebulae.
 
It began with IBM, it continues with Lenovo. Today marks the 20th anniversary of the venerable ThinkPad lineup of computers. Lenovo is celebrating with a mish-mash of nostalgic press releases, including some material from the ThinkPad's induction to the MoMA earlier this year.
 
We cover a lot of concepts, often deliberately ridiculous. Not so that they'll never exist, but to make you think: why not build "earthscrapers" that pierce deep into the Earth? We first saw the ridiculously great Ostrich Pillow last year, and now, after a successful Kickstarter, it's being made into a fully realized product.
 
The Hubble telescope has captured literally thousands of photos of the starry skies — each one beautiful in its own right. Now, these gorgeous photos have been pieced together in a mosaic that recreates Van Gogh's seminal The Starry Night.
