A brouhaha on the Microsoft forums has revealed that the next update (11.1) to DirectX, the company's graphics software, will be exclusive to Windows 8. This cuts against Microsoft's usual trend of supporting older operating systems for quite a while after they are no longer the prize pony.

The Art of Video Games, the Smithsonian's partially crowd-sourced exhibit on the visual history of video games is going across the country. The EMP Museum in Seattle will play host to the exhibit from February 15 to May 12 in 2013.

Pixar, a company that Steve Jobs heavily invested in, served as Chief Executive for and eventually sold to Disney, has named its new headquarters in his memory. A Pixar employee tweeted the photo you see here on Wednesday.
