For Shenyang's 2013 National Games, EMERGENT Architecture has designed a massive multi-purpose facility complete with "a civic recreation center, a swimming arena, soccer fields, basketball, tennis, badminton, and volleyball courts and open park spaces." This sports center also boasts removable seating for concerts and other events and connects to the adjacent Shenyang Park. Check out the gallery below for more images.
 
Yheu-Shen Chua won third place in the 2011 Skyscraper Competition for this take on the Hoover Dam. The design incorporates the viewing platform, bridge and gallery into one structure, including a vertical aquarium to show off the 700-foot drop into the Black Canyon.
