For most folks, a floating human hamster wheel is not the preferred method of travel in the open sea (or anywhere else, really).
But thirty-five year old Chris Todd is not your regular seafarer. Sadly, bad weather and a faulty rudder forced Todd to stop short (26 miles into his 66-mile journey from Wales to the east coast of Ireland). He was pulled to safety by the nearby support boat, but his watercraft, dubbed "Tredalo," ended up at the bottom of the Irish Sea.
His goal was to raise money for Wiltshire Blind Association and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and Todd has plans to design a sturdier rudder — and try again.
