10 techie Halloween costume ideas for DIY geeks
This Halloween, you could dress as a boring ghost or something equally as simple. Or even worse, you could buy one of those cheap costumes with the strings that tie in the back to hold it all together. You're a geek! Wouldn't it be better to create something a little more high tech and a lot more fun? How about a jellyfish that glows? Or an authentic-looking outfit from Tron?
Here are some high-tech Halloween ideas you could still pull off with a little elbow grease.

1. Gaping Hole: You can create a nice scary effect with nothing more than a portable DVD player and portable camera. Just attach to the front and back of a sweatshirt, and voila!
2. MeKeVoRkA: Letâs say you want to light up the night and do something a little more showy for your costume this year. How about this MeKeVoRka outfit? All you need is an EL sequencer and a microcontroller. Check out how it looks in this video.
3. Robot iPhone Mask: If you have an iPhone, this costume is a no-brainer. Everyone loves robots, right? Well, make a cool robot mask with your iPhone and amaze others with your ingenuity. You just need your iPhone (loaded with the MouthOff app), a cardboard box and some glue, aluminum foil and tape.
