Boeing adds a dorm room to its biggest VIP jets
Boeing has released more information about its Aeroloft, which is kind of like an eight-bed dorm room that you can add to the top of what is already the biggest and baddest business jet in the sky.
Added as an extension to the upper deck cabin, the Aeroloft adds eight little cabins with fully flat beds, just the place to keep your henchmen or other associates. I am assuming that if you have the scratch to buy a $350 million 747-8 business jet, you're already going to have a giant master bedroom on the main deck.
The Aeroloft adds about 393 square feet of floorspace, or about the size of a typical New York City studio apartment.
Boeing says that so far it has sold nine of the BBJ 747-8s, all to head-of-state customers. I guess $350 million is a little steep for even the richest rock bands.
