You can play Borderlands 2 today (in 16 bit)

Gearbox's Borderlands 2 isn't out for another month, but that doesn't mean you can't play it early. As part of the hype machine, Gearbox "demade" Borderlands 2 as a 16-bit game fit for 1989. What are you waiting for? Drop what you're doing and get ready to loot!

Rechristened The Border Lands, Gearbox's demake lets you play as Borderlands 2's Axton, Maya, Salvador and Zer0 in a top-down world as you kill everything in sight.

Arrow keys control movement, space bar or the Z button fires, and holding the spacebar plus an arrow key will let you lock your aim.

You'll need to have Adobe Flash installed in order to play. Also, it looks like the site is getting hammered pretty hard right now, so if it doesn't load up, wait a few and try again.

What kind of glory will you get? Only your name on the high-score leaderboard. Ready, set, go! Kiss your plans for the rest of the week goodbye!
