Mars Curiosity music video parody proves NASA is cool again

If you're part of the NASA Curiosity rover team, what could be more awesome than successfully landing on Mars? Actually, nothing. But a music video paying homage to your efforts as the revitalization of NASA cool is a close second.

Led by an actor playing the role of now-iconic "Mohawk Guy," aka NASA engineer Bobak Ferdowsi, a group of Seattle performers came up with this music video parody of LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It" hailing the efforts of the Mars Curiosity rover team.

The video not only changes the lyrics of the song to focus on NASA ("We're NASA and we know it," as well as a musical breakdown of Curiosity's EDL), but it also includes breakdancing astronauts, an anthropomorphized version of Curiosity (in an American flag bikini) and shout outs to popular astronomers Carl Sagan and Neil deGrasse Tyson.

It's official: NASA is cool again. (Although, for many of us space geeks, it never lost its cool.) You can check out the nerdtastic hilarity in the video below.
