A couple days ago NASA's Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) on the Suomi-NPP satellite took this shot of Tropical Storm Isaac.
A Category 1 hurricane when it made landfall on Tuesday, Isaac has been losing steam since — and hopefully poses less of a threat now than it did when this picture was taken. Take a look below for more images of Isaac by night from space.
