6 eye-popping views of the universe that are totally fake

Photographer Fabian Oefner took these nebula pictures in a dark room, no telescope (or even sky) necessary. Instead of some exotic far-away nebulae, you're looking at a combined long-exposure image of Oefner waving around one of those '90s-era fiber lamp things.
By "'90s-era fiber lamp things" we mean these:
By combining shots of stationary lamps (the background stars) with moving lamps (the nebulae), Oefner was able to create this fairly spectacular set of fake astrophotos, which you can see in the gallery below.
