We've seen a few videos of Earth as seen from the International Space Station before, but I think this latest one is easily the most beautiful so far.
What's especially cool here is that they have framed the picture so that you see various parts of the ISS in the image, which I feel gives the video a enhanced sense of reality letting you feel that there are actually real people up there experiencing this.
The footage is assembled from thousands of still images which were all shot at night, so you get to see all kinds of natural phenomena like the thunderstorms at 2:29, the Aurora Borealis at 2:25.
Picking out geographic details is tricky at this speed, but we're definitely flying westward over Europe and the British Isles from 3:05 to 3:10, and over the Great Lakes at 3:16. Please feel free to post in the comments if you can identify any other places.
Topping it all off is a beautiful musical score by composer John Murphy entitled Sunshine, which brings it all together kind of like that video of the telescopes in the Chilean desert.
