Modern cars are swiftly becoming like the new Retina display MacBook Pro, powerful and attractive, but useless to those of us who want to get under the hood and make modifications. But now a Japanese company has developed a vehicle that could ensure the days of do-it-yourself car modifcation stick around.
The Pius was designed by Modi Corp to allow anyone to learn how to build an electric vehicle. And, despite its DIY nature, the one-seater actually has a pretty sporty design. The only drawback for car purists is that the vehicle's road classification will register it as a motorized bicycle, at least on the streets of Japan.
Although the company hasn't released pricing information, Modi Corp has confirmed that the vehicle will be ready for the commercial market sometime in 2013.
