Blobby power strip concept solves the 'not long enough' problem

Only by letting go of all established conventions can new innovative designs shine through. This power strip concept throws the boxy rectangular shape out the window in favor of a shape-shifting soft plastic that allows electrical plugs to be attached from any position.

The Fluid Multi-tap was designed by Xue Xing Wu, Zi Yu Li, Yue Hua Zhu and Zhi Qiang Wang to break down the insular designs of a power strip. Its striking design looks nothing like a power strip, yet because of its unique aesthetic, it can be more useful than even something like the Quirky power strip.

The designers say that the "fluidity in the design is the key element here." Its moldable soft plastic design allows it to be adapted to any interior design schematic.

As you can see in the concept renders, one Fluid Multi-tap can be shaped to sit on a two ledges. Plugs be be attached at any angle and any position. It's truly universal and perfect for spaces such as corners.

Optimists can even consider the Fluid Multi-tap as a piece of art, bending and transforming its shape into a sculpture.

Alas, this power strip is but a concept. Hopefully in the future we'll see more amorphous designs in our homes.
