Self-stirring pot controversy can be laid to rest: one now exists
There's been some controversy surrounding so-called "self-stirring" pots in the past around here at DVICE, but those dark days have now passed. It appears someone has finally created a true self-stirring pot that has absolutely no mechanical parts. And for some fun lagniappe, it was created by a dentist!
Japanese dentist Hideki Watanabe has created the Kuru-Kuru Nabe. The pot's unique shape uses thermodynamics to create a whirlpool as water heats up, which means the water gets hotter faster and it compacts foam so water is less likely to boil over.
This could lead to some serious record-breaking macaroni and cheese cooking times, which at least has this writer chomping at the bit.
Some investors are needed to further the project, but I'm not sure how anyone could not invest in this: it's an extremely simple design with a huge benefit.
The site for the Kure-Kuru Nabe is in Japanese, but the pot's appeal remains universal.
