A huge PC game launched last week. Maybe you heard of it? Yes, we're talking about Diablo 3. The game was so huge that Blizzard just had to announce some record-setting figures to let you all know how successful D3 has been. Who says PC gaming is dead? It's clearly not.
Blizzard's figures state that Diablo 3 is being played by over 6.3 million gamers worldwide since its official launch last Tuesday. There's more. 3.5 million copies of Diablo 3 were sold in its first 24 hours. Insane, isn't it?
That's with all the server issues that people were losing sleep over, too. Wait, there's even more. Blizzard says that those numbers "do not include players in Korean Internet game rooms, where Diablo 3 has become the top-played game." Sooo, actual figures should be northward of what the company is saying. Unbelievable.
And remember, this is for a game that must be connected to the Internet at ALL times.
Our own captain Kevin Hall beat Diablo 3 on normal difficulty in about 15 hours over the weekend (not nearly as fast as this guy). Barring the short campaign with a story that "felt a little squished," some lag issues and server timeouts, Kevin seemed to enjoy the game.
Now we're turning to you. How many hours did it take you to beat the game? Are you on run two yet? Has Diablo 3 lived up to your expectations?
