Video of the Day: Shoe-smartphone concept channels Get Smart
Thursday, April 19, 2012 - 6:00am
Anirudh Sharma's concept uses a smartphone and a shoe to help visually impaired individuals get around with greater ease.
Basically, the smartphone sends signals to a custom shoe which vibrates, say, on the left side of the foot if the individual needs to make a left turn next. As the individual approaches the turn, the vibrations would increase in intensity.
I'm guessing this shoe would be pretty expensive and would probably need to be replaced often due to frequent use. Thoughts?
