Diablo 3 open beta test just booked everybody's weekend up

Want to try Diablo 3 early? You've got this entire weekend to do so because Blizzard is holding a three day open beta for the anticipated game for everyone* to test ahead of its May 15 release. Here's how to get your Diablo 3 on.

To start your weekend bash early (we know you've got nothing better to do!), sign in to your Battle.net account (or create a new one) and create a BattleTag, download the game and you're good to go.

The open beta test starts April 20 at 12:01 p.m. PDT and ends on April 23 at 10 a.m. PDT. Diablo 3 will be available in English, French and German for the weekend on Windows and Mac platforms.

Blizzard promises final retail copies of Diablo 3 will come in English, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, European Spanish, Italian, Polish, Korean an Traditional Chinese on Windows. Mac users will only have English, French and German.

Don't be surprised if Blizzard's servers buckle. Diablo 3 is a friggin' big-ass deal for a lot of people.

Happy gaming!

*It looks like players in Hong Kong, Korea, Macau and Taiwan aren't included in the open beta weekend. Blizzard says it'll hold a closed invitation-only event for players in those regions starting April 23.
