Fans of the original Addams Family TV show, know that the disembodied hand called The Thing was pretty 'handy' around the house. This Thing created by artist Doktor A is kind of like the original, but with an added steampunk twist.

In the series, Thing would handle mundane tasks like changing the channels on the TV, handing Gomez his cigars and lighting them, and changing records on the Addams' record player. While this version is just a wood and brass model, wouldn't it be cool if you could make it work your TV remote or something.

Doktor A built his Thing for an Addams Family themed exhibition at the Wootini Gallery in Carrboro North Carolina. It is now available for sale.
