The safest bike light ever also looks like a glowing gun

The community at Kickstarter has done it again, this time giving rise to something every urban cyclist has dreamed of: a truly theft-resistant, yet cool, bike light.

Created by a couple of MIT students and dubbed The Defender, the LED light uses 3 double-A batteries good for about 100 hours, and is housed in lightweight aluminum designed to look like the six-bullet chamber in a handgun. So you get safety and a bit of rebel cool packed into one gadget. The team has already received far more than the $18,000 they were looking for to put the device into production (per unit price has not been announced yet), but you can check out The Defender in action in the video below.
