Ikea wind-powered lamps are perfect for an Al Gore backyard party

If you want to have a super green outdoor party that even Al Gore or Ed Begley Jr. would be happy to attend, make sure you get yourself some of these new wind-powered pendant lamps from Ikea.
The Solvinden joins the Swedish words "sol" for sun and "vinden" for wind, to give you a hint as to how it works. The turbine shade turns a small generator that charges a battery, which is also connected to a solar cell on the top of the lamp. Then when it's party time, the stored charge in the battery powers the LED bulbs.
Ikea lists the Solvinden for about $30 on its website, although none of their stores appear to have any in stock yet.
