5. Dickinson High School FIRST Robotics 2012 Lonestar Regional Kids and robots! Whatâs not to love? You can support a high school group looking to compete in a regional robot competition. Building robots, though, requires a lot of resources. What could be better than giving these smart kids the tools they need to not only further their education into technology but also build a fully-functional robot? Status: Unfunded
6. Smartphone Robot I geeked out when I saw this project. How cool would it be to take my smartphone, which already knows me so well, and turn it into a robot? With the included apps, you can use Romo to do just about anything from spying on friends to playing games. Status: Funded!
10. Dash, the smart smartphone car stereo Wouldnât it be awesome if you could use your smartphone as your car entertainment system? Sure, most newer vehicles have something that integrates with your smartphone, but itâs rarely seamless and easy to set up. But the makers behind Dash, the smartphone car stereo, have come up with a solution. One device integrated with your car stereo and youâre listening to streaming music while gridlocked in traffic. Status: Unfunded
1. Monster Guru Game A beautifully illustrated game being created for the iPhone, Monster Guru lets players to capture and train monsters they find out in the world. Featuring geolocation gameplay, hand drawn graphics and a completely original story, this project is worthy of success. If you have any love for games such as Monster Rancher, youâre probably going to want this fun little app to see success. Status: Unfunded
2. Brush Monkey At first, I was wondering why I would need an Internet-enabled wireless toothbrush, but you have to admit that the Brush Monkey just sounds cool in concept. With a wireless circuit and accelerometer inside the toothbrush, it can measure just how well youâre brushing your teeth. Partner that with a cute app that features a monkey and Iâd say most kids are going to be happy to brush their teeth twice a day. Status: Unfunded
3. Open Source Bussard Fusion Reactor The fact that someone wants to build their own fusion reactor just seemed pretty awesome to me. The funds raised from this successful project will go towards recreating the Bussard Fusion Reactor in Sydney. Nuclear power could certainly help in solving some of our energy woes, so more power (pun intended) to this Kickstarter pioneer. Status: Funded!
4. Earthcell: Renewable Batter Battery waste is a very real problem. Every year, we throw away about three billion batteries! All of these batteries are piling up in landfills, their toxins releasing into our environment. Earthcell batteries seek to eliminate that entirely. Not only does Earthcell claim to last longer, but once the battery loses its charge, it can be mailed back in a prepaid mailer and be revitalized. Status: Funded!
7. Oil Spill Cleaning Robot This projects seems like a no-brainer. Oil spills are, unfortunately, all too common and clean-up is often messy and tends to take a great deal of time and puts workers in danger. This robot claims it will be much more efficient, cleaner and more effective than current methods. Status: Funded!
8. SoundSquared This projects seems like a no-brainer, too, and yet I have not seen anyone come up with it before now. The sound on an iPhone leaves much to be desired. Have you ever tried to get a friend to listen to a song on your phone and they just couldnât hear it? SoundSquared is a protective case for your iPhone that enhances your phoneâs audio. Status: Unfunded
9. Global Village Construction Set Low-cost housing that is also green is still a rarity, even in this day and age. This successful project seeks to change that, using the funds it raised to make natural building both fast and cheap. Status: Funded!
