While Ralph Lauren likes to invoke the upper crust sportiness of polo, ultra exclusive travel goods manufacturer Louis Vuitton has taken it one step further by making actual equipment for playing the sport.
Of course real polo involves riding around on ponies, while the Louis Vuitton Polo Bike is for the low rent version known as cycle polo. Still, the bike is quite a piece of work with leather wrapped handlebars ending in etched bar plugs, and embossed leather pedal straps.
No word on pricing, but bear in mind that even the simplest genuine LV coin purse runs several hundred dollars. My guess is that a real polo pony will probably cost less than the LV bike version.
