Japanese LED 'snot' lights up every time you breathe

Noda Akira's little nose light you see here glows every time he breathes isn't another crazy Japanese trend, it's just plain weird and creepy.

Created for Make Tokyo Meeting 07, Akira's nose light uses a small temperature monitor attached to an electrical circuit that fits into his nostril.

Akira doesn't give any reason for making such a weird thing, but says it feels like "dried snot." It's quirky and at first seems dumb, but then you remember that Japan also created LED smiles and suddenly it's not so odd anymore.

Now imagine if Darth Vader had this kind of bling. His nostrils would be lighting up all the time!
