Just in time for anyone who did a bit of early shopping and picked up the iPad 2, a new rumor has surfaced regarding the next generation of the device, and it may be coming sooner than you think.

According to a report spotted by Business Insider from Citi analyst Richard Gardner, several sources say that the new iPad will arrive in February of 2012 and will feature a screen with about twice the resolution of the current model. This would lend even more credence to the persistent rumors of an upcoming iPad sporting a high-res 'Retina Display' similar to its smaller counterpart, the iPhone 4S, but this is the closest we've come to an actual release date.
