France creates the cutest telepresence robot on the planet

We are definitely getting our commercially viable telepresence robots in the near future, but the good news is that they won't have to be creepy looking drones, we'll actually be able to put a human face on these things.

The E-One was developed by French robotics company EOS Innovation as a means to monitor and aid the elderly, or simply keep watch over your home remotely. The twist here is that is puts your video image in a head-like structure, giving anyone interacting with the E-One the vague sense that the person is, in some form, physically present. Standing 2 feet tall and weighing just 22 pounds, the E-One has obstacle detection and can operate on a single battery charge for up to four hours.

There's still no word on pricing, but in the meantime you can see the E-One, unfortunately without the cute face, in action in the video below.
