Fake Nokia N9 smartphone runs seven mobile OSes, kinda

Dual-booting your smartphone usually requires a little technical know-how to pull off. What do you do if you want to run every major mobile OS from one cellphone? Go to China and buy a bootleg Nokia N9 apparently.

What you see in the video below is a fairly decent Chinese knockoff that claims it can "run" iOS 5, MeeGo, Android 3.1 Honeycomb (HTC Sense skin), Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, BlackBerry OS, Android 2.3 (Samsung TouchWiz 3.0 skin) and Symbian Anna.

The truth is a completely different story. The cellphone in question isn't really hepta-booting, it's only running customized skins of MeeGo made to resemble the operating systems.

To the trained eye, it won't fool anybody, but grandma and grandpa? Like easy-pickings (unless of course they're on the pulse of tech like we are). You're better off buying a real N9 or a Lumia 800, but if you just want something cool for April Fool's Day, the knockoff N9 has a 3.8-inch WQVGA screen (resistive, yuck!), a 1.3 megapixel rear camera (double yuck!) and dual SIM card slots (yay!).

Go ahead and hit play (sorry, Flash is required). It's rough stuff, but at least you can trick all your tech-challenged buddies and maybe win a few bets.
