Verizon FiOS cable TV heads to Xbox 360 next month

Ready for your Xbox 360 to also become your FiOS cable box? If you're an existing Verizon FiOS TV, Internet and Xbox Live Gold member, you can get all your TV shows from your 360 — with Kinect controls. Hot diggity!

The Xbox 360 really can do it all (or just a lot). Starting next month, Verizon's live FiOS TV will launch with 26 channels "including MTV, Spike, Food Network, Comedy Central, HBO, CNN and Nickelodeon." More channels will be added shortly after. A FiOS TV app download is required to access the channels, but that shouldn't be too painful.

The offer is good for existing Verizon FiOS customers, so if your area still doesn't have super fast FiOS or if it costs too much for you to shell out every month, then this is obviously worthless to you.

For new customers, Verizon's running a special deal from now through Jan. 21 that bundles in "triple-play service with FiOS TV, FiOS 35/35 Mbps Internet service and Verizon voice service, starting at $89.99 a month. The offer also includes a 12-month Xbox LIVE Gold Membership and the "Xbox Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary" game."

$90 a month isn't cheap, but if it means getting rid of another box in your entertainment center, it could be worth it. Besides you can use your voice to yell at your Xbox 360 that there will only be 26 channels to start with.
