It turns out that the classic science fiction film The Last Starfighter was wrong, video games are not actually spaceship training devices. But now a very real option has arrived for those of us looking for flight training at home.
The OVO-4 Home Flight Simulator puts a fully functional ovoid training unit in your home or garage, complete with turbulence effects, an actual 5-position switch for engine ignition, and a three-screen dashboard that effectively mimics the feeling of being in a real cockpit. The whole thing runs on the Microsoft Flight Simulator, but add in physical accoutrements and the entire package will cost you a pretty penny at around $57,000 here.
