Classy gold and black Nintendo 3DS celebrates 25 years of Zelda
In case you didn't know, Link has been rescuing Princess Zelda for 25 years and Nintendo's planning to celebrate the Legend of Zelda series in big ways this year to make sure fans don't forget. It's kicking the festivities off with Zelda Symphony concerts, gold Wii Remote bundles with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword later this year and now Europe's getting a slick glossy black Nintendo 3DS emblazoned with a golden Triforce with wings and gold accents.
Nintendo only busts out the limited editions and special colors when a system is falling short of expectations or has sold so many units with a color that a new color would help them print even more money.
Sadly, for the 3DS, neither of those situations have materialized. Europeans will get this sweet 3DS bundle that comes the limited edition 3DS and a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D on November 25.
This isn't the first time a limited edition of Zelda handheld has been released. Nintendo released a gold Game Boy Advance SP with Triforce logo (only 30 ever made) back in the day and a gold DS Lite (also with Triforce logo) that included The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass in 2007.
By far this Zelda 3DS is the best looking one. No official price just yet, but it should be somewhere higher than the MSRP for a 3DS and lower than if you bought the game and system separately. Gosh, we can only hope Nintendo will release it in this in the U.S. and other regions as well.
