Xbox's TV streaming deal gets official
Yes, the rumors were true: you'll soon get to watch some TV on your Xbox 360. But don't go tossing out your cable box just yet; this is meant to act as a supplement, not a replacement to your current equipment and contracts.
If you're already a Verizon FiOS or Comcast customer, you'll get to watch some live TV on your Xbox. If you're not, you should still get to enjoy things like HBO GO on-demand (if you're an HBO customer), Bravo and Syfy programming. There are all sorts of other channels coming to other countries, such as BBC and BSkyB in the U.K., but in the States there's not a ton. But it's a great start! I'm hoping this points towards the next-gen Xbox actually working as a fully-fledged cable box, allowing us to toss out one power-hungry piece of equipment from under our TVs.
