Galaxy Nexus smartphone and its high-res screen are Verizon-only

Passing on the chance to sell the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphones in the U.S., Verizon's bagged itself a better smartphone that's also an exclusive to the carrier: the Galaxy Nexus. Get your wallet's primed, it's shopping time!

When it comes to having the best Android smartphones, Verizon usually has the goods. And this time is no different. Verizon will be the exclusive carrier for the Galaxy Nexus — the first smartphone in the U.S. with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and a 4.65-inch 1280x720 resolution screen.

Other nifty specs include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4G LTE, 1GB of RAM and gosh, that screen!

The Galaxy Nexus is expected to go on sale in early to mid-November for $299 with two-year contract. Who's laying down the C-notes for this bad boy?
