Smartphones with crazy high resolutions are coming — for real now. The first smartphone with a 1280x720 resolution screen isn't from Samsung or Sony Ericsson, it's actually from LG and its 4.5-inch screen LG Optimus LTE U+. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!
Carrying on the powerful Optimus brand, the LG Optimus LTE U+ has a spec list that'll make any geek drool: 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera, 1GB RAM, 1830 mAh battery, and runs Android 2.3.5 (ready to be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich).
That snazzy tablet/laptop resolution screen is even an LCD IPS HD one, meaning you'll be getting some brilliant viewing angles if the tech lives up to the IPS name. The cubic textured back doesn't look that bad either.
The best part? LG's planning to drop the LTE U+ beast next month. Between this and the quad-core powered Meizu MX, I'd say rival smartphone makers are finally leading the charge instead of of following in the iPhone's shadows.
