OK, so it doesn't take a genius to claim that Apple is working on a new iPad, as the Wall Street Journal did today. I mean, duh. But they've got the clout and the details to elevate this rumor a bit above the rest.
The report claims that the next iPad will launch early next year, probably in April, and will feature a screen with double the resolution of the iPad and iPad 2 — 2048 x 1536 to the original 1024 x 768. The screen will remain at 9.7 inches.
Apparently, Apple has already placed orders for enough parts to make 1.5 million iPad 3s in the coming months. There isn't much info on the rest of the iPad, but it's safe to assume that there will be a bump in the processor and memory department as well. We'll see!
