This is a robotic mouth developed at Kagawa University that they are teaching to sing. Warning: it does not sing very well.
While at first glance this is creepy and not that impressive, you've gotta keep in mind that all of these sounds are being made by air flowing through eight artificial vocal cords and over a silicon tongue. It's even got a nasal resonance cavity that opens and closes! They really tried to replicate how the human mouth works. It's impressive!
At least in theory. Actually listening to it is a little less so. Presumably it'll get better as they work on it, but it still sounds pretty robotic and demonic at the moment. Someday, however, I'm sure we'll be rocking out to a robo-singer.
