This little robot wants to swim through your bowels

Getting your colon looked at isn't the most pleasant experience in the world, but this new device from Japanese researchers could make things a little less painful.
It's the world's first self-propelled endoscopy device, which would swim its way through your digestive tract in a matter of hours. Because it's self-propelled, it can be inserted into the digestive tract from either end. Yeah, that means what you think it does. Yikes.
It's piloted remotely via joystick, and it has a built-in camera to show what it sees. It's all pretty crazy, like a real-life version of Inner Space but without people having to be shrunk down to control the ship.
