In this beautiful music video for Cold Mailman's Time Is Of The Essence, Norwegian director André Chocron made the lights in hundreds of Oslo apartments dance in perfect sync with the music.
To be fair, in order to get everyone's light timed perfectly he didn't exactly go to each apartment with a light flipping schedule timed to the nearest quarter second. He simply took time lapse video of each building, capturing the lights as they went on and off in each window. Then in post production editing he was able to isolate each window so it would turn on or off exactly when he wanted.
My favorite part is at 1.11 when the floors start to light up like a giant spectrum analyzer.
