Intricate robot bug sculptures are both beautiful and terrifying

Proving that even in the age of touchscreens and molded plastic, old school technology aesthetics will never die, one UK artist has developed an entire line of amazingly detailed steampunk insects he calls Athrobots.

Tom Hardwidge constructs the Arthrobots (the name is a combination of robots and arthropods) by hand using various watch parts, bolts, screws and aluminum. Each one is lovingly polished and delivered in a quaint little wooden box with an original sketch of the construct and details on its designation within artist's iron menagerie.
