Lately, there's been a lot of talk about tablets and smartphones doubling up as gaming consoles when linked to an HDTV. Mobile game publisher Gameloft has a better idea: cut out the middle hardware and put the video games straight on Smart TVs.
Gameloft's plans to put up six "high-quality games with 3D graphics at an affordable price" on Samsung's Smart TVs. The first six games will be UNO, Let's Golf! 2, Block Breaker Deluxe 2, Midnight Pool, Brain Challenge and TV Show King. We're all for Infinity Blade-style app games, but do any of those sound mind-blowing to you?
Gaming consoles a dying breed? Puh-leeze. Here's something to ponder about: how do you control these games? With a regular TV remote? With an Android smartphone controller app? With a Galaxy Tab? That ugly double-sided Smart TV remote?
