Japan's mad inventors at it again: the 'Fanbrella'

Perhaps more than any major metropolis, Tokyo has turned the art of umbrella usage into a fine art, which makes the introduction of the Fanbrella seem like an inevitable innovation.

True to its name, the device combines the protection from the elements provided by an umbrella with the soothing breeze of a personal fan situated at the base of the umbrella's ceiling. Although cooling down during a city downpour might not seem logical to most, in the humid confines of Asia, or the sun blazed streets of the U.S. south, such a device could be a godsend. You can pick up your portable environmental control unit for just $49 here.
