All new Toyota Priuses will be plug-in hybrids starting in 2014

The fuel-sipping Toyota Prius hybrid has been a runaway best seller for years, but with that amazing 127-mpg economy figure, the new Chevy Volt has managed to steal some of its thunder. Now Toyota has announced that starting in 2014, all Priuses will be plug-in hybrids.

By adding the plug-in feature, Toyota says the 4th generation Prius will see 57% bump in mileage, getting it close to the Volt's numbers. What's really interesting is that Toyota will reportedly make the plug-in port standard rather than optional.
