Columbian sculptor César López's specialty is creating custom guitars out of decommissioned guns, such as AK-47s. It's a comment on the drug war in South America, sure, but I'll be he always gets a standing ovation, too.
He calls his creations "escopetarras," which is a portmanteau of the Spanish escopeta meaning "rifle" and guitarra meaning guitar. Clever, no? He doesn't sell his creations, probably due to the fact that there's some tricky paperwork involved in handing over a guitar that looks like a deadly weapon, but he does play them on the streets of Bogota.
