If you have nostalgia for the days when you could eat a three course meal on a plane while bumping elbows with your neighbor, head over to Runway 24 in Zurich Switzerland, a fine dining establishment stuffed inside a 1950s era Soviet Ilyushin IL-14 airliner.
Flying these days you're lucky if you get a bag of peanuts, so I guess some people want to relive the days when you would actually get a meal on the flight. Personally, all I remember is lots of crappy microwaved meals, so I'll skip the nostalgia trip. I just hope Runway 34 has set their culinary sights a bit higher.
To be strictly accurate, the Runway 34 plane itself houses a just a cramped cigar lounge and bar, while the dining areas are spread out around the plane. Some tables use real aircraft seating if you want to have an authentic elbow bumping experience.
Once you're done, perhaps you could complete the fake flying experience by hopping over to Stockholm for a night at the Jumbo Hostel.
