Man builds a 'junk' car powered by $24 bourbon
Inspired by the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and by the stars of American Pickers, 62-year-old Mickey Nilsson built a car that's powered by Makers Mark bourbon. Is it still considered drinking and driving if the car is the one downing the alcohol?
Apparently, the bourbon-powered car took Nilsson about six months to create, with Japanese car maker Nissan picking it up for a concept car showcase a few weeks ago. According to Nilsson, "The car will run on almost any bourbon, but she really purrs on Maker's Mark." So, don't go giving his car bourbon priced less than $24 — that's basically his car's premium. It does make you wonder, though, how much good bourbon did Nilsson sacrifice before concluding Maker's Mark works best?
Dubbed the Nissan Nilsson, the car will officially debut in 2014.
Hopefully, the car won't change too much from the "junk" shown in the photo above. Lovin' the vintage flair. All it really needs is a huge rocket strapped to its rear and then it'll really look wicked.
