The generally accepted wisdom at the moment is that the next iPhone, the iPhone 5, will essentially be exactly the same as the iPhone 4, but with a faster processor, more RAM and a better camera. But former Engadget editor Josh Topolsky hears otherwise.
His theory is that we've got a major overhaul coming this fall, one that will slim down the phone even more, perhaps with a teardrop shape. It'd also make the screen a bit bigger while retaining the same resolution, making it a tiny bit less dense, pixel-wise. Also, the home button would be larger and would allow for gestures on it.
All-in-all, a lot of interesting stuff going on. I'm not sure I buy it — these seem like iPhone 6 updates —but we'll see.
